Formerly known as Eastern Region Campus (ERC), Purwanchal Campus is a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University and a leading institution under the Institute of Engineering. It brings together technical education, practical learning, research, and professional development.
Today, more than 2,300 students learn with the support of qualified faculty members, researchers, technical personnel, and administrative staff committed to academic excellence.

2034 BS · 1977 AD
The campus was established under a development loan agreement with the Asian Development Bank.
2035 BS · 1978 AD
Technical assistance began through an agreement between the governments of Nepal and the United Kingdom.
2043 BS · 1986 AD
Major infrastructure was completed as the campus expanded under the Institute of Engineering.
2057 BS · 2000 AD
Nepal’s first bachelor program in Agricultural Engineering began; postgraduate programs followed from 2017.
